How to form the Past Perfect Continuous:

The Past Perfect Continuous is formed with the subject + auxiliary verb 'have' in the past simple had + been + ing form of the verb.

I had not been playing / I hadn't been playing.

To form the Past Perfect Continuous negative use the auxilliary verb 'have' in the past simple + not (had not / hadn't) + been + ing form of the verb.
